The
Alaskan Moose
Our moose hunting season begins September 1st and end September
25th. The first week, bulls may still be in velvet. Bulls taken
the last week of the season may be in the "rut".
Generally, alaska moose are found
along drainages with scattered spruce trees, alders (brush) and
hills and are usually down in creek bottoms. Hip boots are a must.
Alaska has a population of between 155,000 and 165,000 moose.
A bull moose can weigh up to 1,600 pounds. An adult bull moose
can stand over 7 feet tall from the ground to the top of his antlers.
The antlers from an adult bull moose can weigh up to 75 pounds.
Alaskans harvest between 6,000 and 8,000 moose every year. An
average bull supplies about 500 pounds of meat.
All trips are
limited participation, one hunter with one guide per camp, unless
the clients requests otherwise, or the hunt is booked as a 2x1.
Our employee to client ratio is usually well over two employees
per client with six clients per hunt.
We believe we offer
the finest Alaskan fishing and the best grizzly, moose, caribou,
sheep and black bear hunts available.....
